Community Group Support

Community groups achieve amazing things for the benefit of our community, thanks in large part to the hard work and dedication of local volunteers.

The Shire of Denmark does what it can to support community groups and volunteering organisations, and when that support is exhausted, there are more options to explore for support. Please visit our Community Group Support page for more information.

Awards and Grants

Every member of our seniors community contributes something individual and special to the fabric of life here in the Shire of Denmark.

In acknowledgement that some go above and beyond to make an impact, the Shire of Denmark Community Citizen of the Year awards have a Seniors Category for the ‘Seniors - Community Citizen of the Year’.

Nominations for the awards (presented in May at the annual Thank a Volunteer event) open annually in March. For more information about the nomination process, please visit our Volunteering page.

The 2022/23 Senior - Community Citizen of the Year is Bradley Kneebone, acknowledging the more than 20 years of dedication of promoting the birdlife and biodiversity of the Wilson Inlet. Well deserved, Bradley!
