Important note on proposed R-code reforms by the WA State Government

The Western Australian State Government has announced proposed reforms to the Residential Design Codes. As the reforms are still subject to consultation and are not expected to take effect until mid-2027, current planning requirements remain unchanged. You can learn more about these proposed reforms here.

Bushfire Prone Areas

A Bushfire Prone Area is a designated area where there is a higher risk to life and property from bushfires. Much of the land within the Shire of Denmark is designated as a Bushfire Prone Area.

State Government policies for bushfire protection apply increased development requirements and standards within these designated areas.
