Every winter and spring, our Ranger Services team offers its Book a Ranger program to assist property owners and occupiers to understand the requirements of the annual Firebreak and Property Management Notice.

About Book a Ranger
Book a Ranger is a free community service (available September - November, booking will not be taken 1 December - 31 August), designed to assist community members better understand their responsibilities under the Firebreak and Property Management Notice. Community members can request to have a Ranger visit their property to talk through the steps required to achieve compliance before the Maintenance Period which begins on 1 December and extends to 30 April each year.
Our Book a Ranger program is an opt-in service which residents and ratepayers are not required to make use of. But it is your responsibility to understand what is required of you, or risk non-compliance and fines.
Note: Book a Ranger appointments are not available during the Maintenance Period.

Our Book a Ranger service is currently closed and will reopen in September 2026. If you have any questions or concerns, contact our friendly Ranger Services team.
Book a Ranger appointments are available from 1 September to 28 November, from Monday to Friday during business hours. Book a Ranger is a popular program, so please register your interest early to avoid missing out before the Maintenance Period begins on 1 December.
