Ten community groups have been named as recipients of the 2025/26 Shire of Denmark Community Grants – Round 1, following a thorough application review process.
This first round of approved funding represents a combined value of $25,000, supporting local not-for-profit groups and organisations to deliver projects that benefit the Denmark community. Successful projects this round include:
- Saddle upgrades to support riders and protect horses (HorsePower Denmark)
- The Denmark Sustainable Homes Award 2025/26 (Green Skills Inc)
- Training room upgrades (Denmark Community Resource Centre)
- Safety upgrades to enable youth sailing (Denmark Sailing Club)
- Site surveying for facility enhancements (Denmark Riverside Club Inc.)
- IT expansion to deliver better community support (Nornalup Residents and Ratepayers Association Inc)
- Events and maintenance support (Denmark Pop Up Piano Project)
- Sustainable water supply (Denmark Lions Club)
- New equipment to support growth (Denmark Table Tennis Club Inc.)
Applications were assessed based on demonstrated need and alignment with the Shire of Denmark Strategic Community Plan and Sustainability Strategy.
Shire President Aaron Wiggins said the increased funding of our Community Grants program ensures that this vital means by which the Shire supports grassroots initiatives can grow.
“While often small in individual amount, these grants are incredibly enabling for our community groups, who are using them to bring far greater value to our Shire than the dollar amount,” Cr Wiggins said.
The second round of community grants, with $28,500 of funding available, will open in February 2026.
As part of our commitment to transparency, the Shire publishes a Community Contributions Register, available on our website.
