Council proposes to make a local law relating to Pest Plants for the following purpose and effect.
Purpose – To provide the Shire of Denmark the ability to issue notices to landowners requiring them to destroy, eradicate or otherwise control listed pest plants from their land within the local government district.
Effect – to protect the district’s natural environment, land values and mitigate the spread of noxious weeds and pest plants across reserves and private land within the local government district.
A copy of the proposed local law may be inspected or obtained –
Written submissions on the draft local law should be made to the CEO, and can be emailed to info@denmark.wa.gov.au, posted to PO Box 183, Denmark or hand delivered to 953 South Coast Highway, Denmark.
The closing date for submissions is 4.00pm, Friday, 30 October 2025.
