New Public EV Charger for Denmark

Another piece of public EV charger infrastructure is now operational in Denmark with the installation of an eLumina D1 DC Fast Charger at the car park adjacent to the Council Chambers at the Shire of Denmark Administration Building.

The new charger, which operates through the Chargefox network, has DC fast-charging capability of up to 106kW, with two vehicles able to charge simultaneously.

It will soon be joined by another charger, due to be installed on Hollings Rd near Berridge Park in the coming months.

Both charging stations come at no cost to the ratepayer, with the infrastructure supplied, delivered and installed by eLumina.

Deputy Shire President Clare Campbell said keeping pace with demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure is important for regional towns like Denmark.

“As more people make the switch to electric vehicles, we need to make sure our infrastructure keeps pace,” Cr Campbell said.

“These new chargers are a small but important part of our commitment to a more sustainable future, while also making it easier for visitors to travel the extra distance to Denmark with confidence. It’s about making lower-emissions choices practical and accessible, not just aspirational.”

The installation of another public EV charging facility represents the Shire’s on-going commitment to achieving the community-led goals set out in the Council Plan Our Future 2035, where “Support renewable and energy efficiency initiatives across the community and industry” is one of the goals under our Net Zero Emissions pillar.

The charger is currently operational and ready for use.
