Mt Hallowell Management Plan Final Review Period Commences

The Shire of Denmark has initiated a final round of community consultation, seeking feedback on the Draft Mount Hallowell Management Plan, before it is presented to Council for approval.

This final consultation period, open from Wednesday, 18th June, will remain open for 4 weeks and allow our community to provide feedback on the Draft Management Plan, which is now available online and in hard copy form.

Independent consultant Aurora Environmental has created this Draft Management Plan based on the results of the previous community survey, which closed earlier this year, and with information gathered from stakeholder meetings.

This information identified what is important to our community about Mount Hallowell, what the critical community concerns about the future of the reserve are, and how these concerns should be addressed in an updated Management Plan.

“The significance of Mount Hallowell to our community is clear,” Shire President Kingsley Gibson said.

“It’s important all community members take the time to tell us if this Draft Management Plan meets their expectations of how the Reserve will be managed and maintained.”

Community members interested in reviewing the Draft Management Plan and providing their feedback can participate in this process online via the project page at:

A hard copy of the Draft Management Plan can also be viewed at the Shire Administration Building and the Denmark Public Library.

The Shire Administration Building also has hard copy feedback forms available to be completed and submitted by members of the public.

Additionally, our independent consultant, Aurora Environmental, will be holding an in-person session open to all interested members of the public to provide their feedback on the Draft Management Plan, in the Function Room at the Denmark Recreation Centre from 12pm to 2pm on Wednesday, 9th July.

“I urge all our community members to tell us if they think this proposed plan will meet their expectations about how Mt Hallowell is used into the future,” Cr Gibson said.

The final public review will be open from Wednesday, 18th June, to 5pm on Friday, 18th July, and feedback can be provided online via the link above or via hard copy feedback forms,  submitted at the Shire Administration Building.
