Invitation for Public Comment
The Shire of Denmark has prepared Draft Local Planning Policy No. 52: Colour Application and Determinations to interpret and consistently apply colour requirements in new development.
The objectives of the draft policy are to:
- a) ensure development integrates visually with the natural landscape and surrounding built form;
- b) avoid visually dominant, reflective or high-contrast colour outcomes;
- c) provide a consistent interpretation of non-prescriptive colour terminology used in the Scheme; and
- d) support objective assessment through performance-based measures, including Solar Absorptance (SA)
Community feedback is invited on the draft policy, which can be viewed at https://www.yourdenmark.wa.gov.au/ or at the Shire’s Administration office.
Comments can be made in writing by:
- Sending comments through the Shire’s Your Denmark page
- Emailing us at info@denmark.wa.gov.au
- Sending a letter to PO Box 183, Denmark WA 6333 (please allow for post prior to close of the public comment period)
Public consultation is open until close of business on 1st June 2026.
