The second round of the Shire of Denmark’s Community Grants program, which supports local not-for-profit groups to deliver projects that benefit the Denmark community, is now open.
This program, now offered in two rounds each financial year, offers a pool of $28,500 to help bring community-led ideas to life, continuing the Shire’s long-standing commitment to providing financial assistance to grassroots initiatives.
In round one, successful applicants included HorsePower Denmark, Green Skills, Denmark Community Resource Centre, Denmark Sailing Club, Denmark Riverside Club, Nornalup Residents and Ratepayers Association, Denmark Pop Up Piano Project, Denmark Lions Club and Denmark Table Tennis Club.
Shire President Aaron Wiggins said the Community Grants program is a great way for our community groups to gain equal access to funding that they can use to make a big difference in our Shire.
“I am always impressed with the initiative and resourcefulness of our local community groups,” Cr Wiggins said.
"I am looking forward to seeing what applications are submitted this round, and I strongly encourage all eligible groups with an exciting project coming up or a need for assistance to apply.”
Eligible groups can apply for funding of $1,000 to $10,000 across 6 grant categories, with successful applicants now having 18 months to complete and deliver their projects.
The Community Grant Guidelines, application tips and guidance are available on the Shire’s website, and anyone interested is also encouraged to book a one-on-one session with the Shire’s Community Development Officer for support with their application on 9848 0300 or info@denmark.wa.gov.au
Applications close 4pm Tuesday, 3 March 2026 and applicants will be notified of their success in late March 2026.
