Proposal: PROPOSED WEEKLY FRESH FOOD MARKET

The proposal is to be considered in accordance with the Shire of Denmark Activities on Thoroughfares and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2001.
In summary, the Permit application seeks approval to conduct a 6 month trial of a Weekly Fresh Food Market accommodating between 10 and 30 private stallholders. Produce offered for sale is to include vegetables, fruits, dairy, meats, coffee and other fresh food produce. Some value-added stalls such as soaps, natural cosmetics, bees wax candles and similar are expected, but not art and craft items. A limited number of not for profit food stalls serving hot food/ beverages may be permitted as well as one (1) commercial mobile coffee vendor, however, no food vans/ caravans will be permitted.

Comments on the proposal should be lodged with Planning Services, in writing (email is acceptable) on or before close of business on 16 August 2019. Please note that any comments received may be referred to the applicant to provide them with an opportunity to address the issues raised in the first instance (NB: names and contact details are removed at this point in time). Should the proposal be referred to Council for determination, all comments will be made publicly available at that time, which may include submitter details.
This proposal is available for inspection in order to provide an opportunity for public comment as part of the Shire’s assessment process of the proposal.
