All local governments are required to adopt two codes of conduct.  One for Council Members, Committee Members and Candidates (also replaces the Local Government (Rules of Conduct) Regulations 2007) and one for Employees.

The codes have differing provisions but both set our principles and standards of behaviour that must be observed such as:

  • Integrity and general principles of behaviour
  • Appropriate relationships with others and the broader community
  • Use of Shire resources and information
  • Conflicts of interests
  • Reporting breaches of the code and other statutory reporting mechanisms.

You can download a copy of the codes by clicking on the links below.
