Young Families

Families with young children are the future of our community and are captured within our community priority to focus on Youth needs in the decade ahead.

Young Families Services Information

The Shire of Denmark strives to strengthen families and communities through a range of family-based initiatives that enhance health and well-being, build positive relationships, connect families to their communities and enhance access to responsive family support services.

Both our Denmark Public Library and Denmark Recreation Centre offer programs for young families, including organised activities for young children and creche services so parents can get some exercise time to themselves. McLean House is also returning to a youth focus in 2024, with programs, support services and events tailored to meet the needs of our local youth community.

There are plenty of other resources available to assist and support young families.

Have Your Say

Community consultations in the Shire of Denmark aren’t complete without representation from all generations who live here. We recognise young families are very busy, so we do our best to make sure we have consultations available that are quick, accessible and easy to participate – that way, everyone can have their say on the future of our community.

Please check out our Community Consultations page for information about current consultations.

Have you thought about standing for Council? Representation from a wide-cross section of our community is what makes all the difference. Visit our Standing for Council page for more information.
