  • Initial project works have included vegetation modification and gravelling of the Madfish Bay car park and road.
  • Madfish Bay Road has been open since 18 December however will be closed from Monday 13 January so that work in this part of the park can recommence.
  • Greens Pool car park and Elephant Rocks car park will remain open until the full park closure on Monday 3 February.
  • A diversion for the Munda Biddi Trail will be installed on Sunday 12 January. The trail will be diverted along the Denmark-Nornalup Heritage Rail Trail. Riders will need to watch for other users including walkers and horses.
  • A spur trail of the Munda Biddi Trail will remain open to riders between Lights Beach car park to a beach access point located east of Waterfall Beach which will be clearly marked. The Munda Biddi Trail will be closed to the west past this point.
  • The Bibbulmun Track will not be diverted however walkers must remain on the Bibbulmun Track and not divert onto the Munda Biddi Trail or any other road or track. Walkers need to watch for heavy vehicles when crossing William Bay Road. William Bay hut will remain open.
  • Visitation to Greens Pool and William Bay National Park has been on par with previous summer periods with an estimated average of 1100 vehicles visiting the park per day.
  • Visitation is expected to remain stable for the remaining weeks of the school holidays and with the VacSwim classes continuing at Greens Pool until Friday 24 January.
  • A full park closure will take place on Monday 3 February to allow for construction works to take place safely and in a timely manner during favourable weather conditions.
  • Works will include the sealing of Madfish Bay Road and Madfish Bay car park, the development of more than 75 new parking bays, the construction of three new toilet blocks and an upgrade of all existing facilities within the footprint of existing roads and car parks.

The works are expected to be completed by the end of June 2020.
