The Shire of Denmark’s Native Plant Nursery is inviting volunteers to help grow and care for seedlings that will be used in future revegetation efforts.

Volunteer sessions begin on Wednesday, 6th August, and will be held every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Volunteers should meet by the pedestrian gate at the Shire Depot Front Office, located at 41 Zimmermann Street, where a Depot staff member will collect participants at 9:00 AM.

Each session will involve a variety of seasonal nursery activities, including seed propagation, vegetative propagation, potting on, and seed processing.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, connect with like-minded individuals, and contribute to the health of our local environment.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will receive a brief safety induction before starting.

Participants are asked to bring a hat, a water bottle, and wear sturdy footwear—steel cap boots are preferred.

A hi-vis vest is also required, and volunteers are encouraged to bring their own. Morning tea will be provided.

No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm for plants and community spirit! For more information, please contact the Shire Depot on (08) 9848 0328 or email info@denmark.wa.gov.au.
