Important Update – Community Sport Now Exempt from Proof of Vaccination

The WA Government made changes to Proof of Vaccination Requirements on Saturday.

Please read on for important information as it applies to the Denmark Recreation Centre, effective today, Monday, 31 January.

WHAT’S THE SAME

Proof of vaccination requirements are now in place for entry to the Denmark Recreation Centre.

This means a person who is 16 or older must not enter or remain unless they are fully vaccinated or medically exempt.

WHAT’S CHANGED

The exemptions! Community sports (i.e. basketball, netball, badminton, table tennis, indoor soccer and cricket etc) are now EXEMPT from the proof of vaccination requirement.

This includes players, coaches and spectators, who are now able to attend and participate without providing proof of their vaccination status.

Attendance at the Denmark Recreation Centre for any purpose other than community sports (such as gym and fitness classes) still falls under proof of vaccination requirements.

MASKS

As per the WA Government mandates, masks are required at all indoor public venues (this includes the Denmark Recreation Centre) except during vigorous exercise.

SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS

Covid-19 related mandates and requirements are handed down by the WA State Government.

Shire of Denmark and Denmark Recreation Centre staff do not make the rules, but we do our best to communicate information to our community when we are able.

Thank you for showing respect for our staff, community and families by doing the right thing, masking up and following the State Government requirements.

**Please keep in mind, State Government directions can and do change regularly. We will do our best to bring you up-to-date information as soon as we are able. Thank you for your understanding.**

How long will this policy be in place?

That’s up to the State Government. We encourage community members to get their information around Covid-19 plans, guidelines, mandates, requirements and more from the source.
