UPDATE: Roads Reopened in Fire Impacted Area

Published on Tuesday, 8 February 2022 at 1:34:05 PM

Department of Fire and Emergency Services has given the go ahead for closed roads in the Shire of Denmark to reopen.

This means public access is once again permitted on all roads in our Shire, with permits no longer required to access the fire impacted area.

When driving through an area which has been impacted by fire, there are several things to keep in mind: Drive slowly and carefully with your lights on. Be mindful of hazards including livestock, wildlife, downed and unstable trees and smoke.

Most importantly, please remember our firefighting volunteers and other Emergency Services personnel continue to work in the area.

Please adhere to any directions they may give and show respect for their safety by slowing down.

If you’re wondering what you can do to help the recovery effort, it’s pretty simple - please avoid the area if you do not need to be there.
