Telstra to Front Community Forum in Denmark

Representatives from Telstra will visit Denmark next month following an invitation from the Shire of Denmark to convene a community forum to share information about telecommunications services and infrastructure in the Shire.

The forum, set to be held on Thursday 19 August at the Shire’s Reception Room, came about after a commitment was made at the June Ordinary Council Meeting to invite Telstra to address the community.

Telstra representatives readily agreed to the opportunity to share information about Telstra services and infrastructure with Denmark community members, acknowledging there are some concerns within the community about telecommunications infrastructure.

Shire of Denmark Chief Executive Officer David Schober said he was pleased the forum is set to take place.

“We know there is an appetite in our community to learn more about telecommunications infrastructure, services and what’s in store for the future,” Mr Schober said.

Telstra Regional General Manager WA Boyd Brown said it was a great opportunity to engage and listen to the Denmark community on their connectivity needs and how Telstra can assist.

“Technology is unlocking so many new devices and programs to help residents and businesses connect,” Mr Brown said. “This forum will enable Telstra to provide more information and details on what’s now on offer as well as listen to the community on how we can support them.”

Community members are asked to submit any questions they may have to the Shire of Denmark up to seven days prior to the event so Telstra can ensure detailed responses and relevant technical information is available.

There will be no questions taken from the floor on the night, so attendees are encouraged to submit their questions in advance.
