Council met yesterday for a discussion on advertising a proposed rates rise for the 2022/2023 financial year.
A unanimous decision was reached to instruct officers to advertise the proposed rates to the public for a period of 21 days commencing today.
The full rating proposal document, notice of intention to levy differential rates and frequently asked questions were published online today for the community to read and provide comment on.
During the public comment period, Council welcomes formal feedback on the proposal from community members which will inform budget adoption and rate setting decisions early next month.
The feedback will be collated and presented to Council ahead of the Special Council Meeting slated for Tuesday 2 August.
The decision to advertise the proposed rates is the start of the rates discussion with the community this year.
Public comments must be submitted in writing before noon, Wednesday 27 July 2022, either online via Your Denmark, via email on enquiries@denmark.wa.gov.au or via letter (hand-delivered to 953 South Coast Hwy or mailed to PO Box 183 Denmark).
