Eight ratepayers took home $2000 total worth of ‘Denmark Dollars’ after winning the Shire’s new rates prize incentive draw.
The incentive program was an initiative put forward by the Shire of Denmark’s Rates Officer in an effort to give something back to ratepayers and help support local businesses.
Ratepayers were automatically eligible to win if they paid their rates in full by the first instalment due date.
The prizes were in ‘Denmark Dollars’ – a voucher winners could use at any participating local stores and businesses which are also members of the Denmark Chamber of Commerce.
Prizes were awarded for first prize ($1000 Denmark Dollars), second prize ($500 Denmark Dollars), and third and fourth prize ($250 Denmark Dollars each).
First prize winner Donald Stevens accepted his prize at Tuesday night’s Council meeting and commented that he “never wins anything.”
The prize winners were drawn through a random search of properties which had a zero rates balance as at the 23rd September utilising the Shire’s financial software system.
The Shire of Denmark congratulates all the prize winners and thanks the local businesses and Denmark Chamber of Commerce for promoting the incentive.
