A significant step has been taken toward reconciliation and cultural recognition, with the Shire of Denmark Council formally endorsing the implementation of Aboriginal dual naming across 15 iconic locations within our Shire, including rivers, inlets, hilltops and coastal areas.
The Shire of Denmark’s Community Grants program, which supports local not-for-profit groups deliver projects that benefit the Denmark community, is now open and over $50,000 is available—more than double the funding previously committed by the Shire.
For the last few weeks, members of the Shire of Denmark’s senior community have been gathering every Friday morning to throw punches and share a laugh, thanks to a free 10-week Martial Arts for Seniors course, provided by the Denmark Recreation Centre.
