Gym lovers can look forward to a modern and more diverse experience with the Denmark Recreation Centre currently undergoing a total refurbishment and rollout of new services.

The overhaul includes all new cardio, strength and fitness equipment, improved gym layout, more gym and class options for different workout styles and abilities, and interactive support to help members achieve their fitness goals.

The new equipment allows wheelchair access and better caters for individuals recovering from injury, while a hidden power supply will create a safer workout space.

The Denmark Men’s Shed are working on clever storage options and new décor. This, combined with the new wireless stereo system and fresh paint will help motivate and make for a more vibrant space.

Trainer and client can stay connected with the introduction of PT Hub, an online app that allows two way communication, customisable nutrition and training plans, progress tracking and access to an online exercise library.

With a focus on member satisfaction and retention, the Centre held a community info session, met with user groups and listened to feedback received over the past six months.

Recreation Centre Assistant Manager John Overton said the refurbishment and new services will accommodate growing membership numbers and attract new user groups.

“We are committed to making the gym a more up-to-date space to cater for a wider range of contemporary fitness uses. Our active members are continually looking for new ways to facilitate their training.”

We are confident the refurb and diversity of services and support will help members achieve their health goals,” he said.

Some facility disruptions and closures will occur over the refurbishment period from 20th May to 4th June. Please contact The Denmark Recreation Centre on 9848 0344 or email reccentre@denmark.wa.gov.au for info.
