The first round of the Shire of Denmark’s annual Community Grants program is now open to applicants with an initial pot of $30,000 available, continuing the Council’s long-standing commitment to grassroots initiatives, offering assistance to bring community-led ideas to life.

This round, open to receive applications until 28 September, represents the first of two funding rounds in the 2026-2027 financial year, totalling $60,000, in a funding initiative designed to support local not-for-profit groups to deliver projects that benefit the Denmark community.

Eligible groups can apply for up to $10,000 from two grant categories, including ‘Community Activation Grants’ to support programs, events, activities and initiatives that enhance community wellbeing, participation, creativity, culture and social connection, and ‘Minor Infrastructure Grants’ to support small-scale capital improvements, asset upgrades, and essential equipment purchases that improve the usability, safety, or sustainability of community facilities.

Previous successful applicants include Denmark Environment Centre, Denmark Skate Club, Denmark Senior Soccer Club, Denmark FM, GreenSkills, Great Southern Classic Club, Town Team Denmark, Mill Art Group, Sarabande Early Music Ensemble, Denmark Mountain Bike Club, the Denmark Community Resource Centre, and many more.

Grant guidelines, application tips and guidance are available on the Shire’s website, with anyone interested encouraged to book a one-on-one session with the Shire of Denmark Community Development Officer for support with their application on 9848 0300 or info@denmark.wa.gov.au

Applications close 4pm Friday, 28 September 2026. Applicants will be notified of their success in late October 2026.

Round Two of the Community Grant program is expected to open in February 2027.
