About the Opportunity:
As a Parks & Gardens Officer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our parks, gardens, and reserves, ensuring our public spaces remain clean, green, and inviting. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality results for the community.
What you will be doing:
- Carrying out routine maintenance including planting, mowing, turf care, weed control, and pruning
- Operating mowers, tractors, and minor plant equipment safely and effectively
- Supporting the preservation of the natural environment
- Working independently with minimal supervision
- Engaging with the community and delivering friendly, professional customer service
- Supporting workplace health and safety standards
Who We’re Looking For:
- A team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Someone physically capable of performing manual outdoor work
- Passionate about horticulture with relevant qualifications or practical experience
- Committed to sustainability and enhancing community spaces
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive in their work
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate in Horticulture or relevant experience
- Valid ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence
- Construction White Card
- National Police Clearance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
Desirable Skills & Licences:
- HR or MR Driver’s Licence
- Chainsaw certification
- Traffic Management certification
- Chemical handling certification

Hours: Full-time (76 hour / 9-day fortnight), part-time/job share may be considered for this role.
Salary: $69,784.00 per annum and up to 17% superannuation, plus additional allowances and benefits.
