About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, the Engineering Administration Officer plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Technical Services team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality administrative support, coordinating team activities, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with customer enquiries and service requests.

 Working closely with Technical Officers, contractors and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure the efficient delivery of services by providing administrative support, coordinating information, maintaining records and contributing to the smooth operation of the department.

 This is a varied and rewarding position that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and record minutes.
  • Provide administrative support to Technical Services staff and contractors.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, service requests and correspondence in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with the Shire's records management requirements.
  • Assist with procurement activities, ordering and stock control of consumables and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support Technical Officers and other departments across the organisation as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have -

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High-level customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands.
  • A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must be willing to complete a pre‑employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and provide a current National Police Clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within the civil construction, engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Experience working within Local Government.
  • Knowledge of Synergy Soft and/or QGIS.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a similar administrative role.

 Candidates must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and provide a current National Police Clearance.

Hours – Full Time - 76 hours per fortnight.
Salary - $69,904.00 per annum
