About the Opportunity

We are expanding our casual pool of Customer Service Officers to support frontline services across both the Denmark Recreation Centre and the Shire Administration Building. These positions are ideal for friendly, adaptable individuals seeking flexible and rewarding community‑focused work. As a Casual Customer Service Officer, you will deliver high‑quality customer service at one or both locations, assisting residents, visitors, and facility users in a positive and professional manner.

Shifts are offered based on operational needs, including rostered hours, peak periods, and coverage during staff leave. No two days are the same, and full on‑the‑job training is provided to support your success in the role.

Responsibilities of this Role includes

Recreation Centre Customer Service –

  • Provide reception and front‑of‑house services for all Centre patrons.

  • Assist with delivery, coordination and promotion of recreation programs and activities.

  • Manage and process bookings for facilities including the Centre, McLean Park and DHS Oval.

  • Process hire charges, program fees and ensure accurate balancing of daily takings.

  • Maintain Centre user statistics and reporting.

  • Monitor user groups and supervise “unattached” users.

  • Conduct security checks of building and surrounds.

  • Assist with equipment setup, maintenance and cleaning (including gym equipment).

  • Prepare game fixtures and umpire rosters; liaise with teams.

  • Support the Recreation Services Coordinator with administrative and operational tasks.

 

 

Shire Administration Customer Service Officer

  • Provide high‑level, professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform front counter duties including receipting and banking all Shire revenue.

  • Provide Licensing (Department of Transport) services and process associated transactions.

  • Manage new kerbside waste collection service applications.

  • Process new dog and cat registrations.

  • Handle incoming calls as the Shire’s first point of contact.

  • Support Corporate Services Officers with general administrative functions.

  • Apply records management principles and maintain data accuracy.

  • Contribute to continuous service improvements within the customer service team.

 

 

About You

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident engaging with the public.

  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, “can‑do” attitude.

  • Clear and professional communication skills (in person, phone, and written).

  • Able to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Confident using computers, with good keyboarding and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and administrative tasks.

  • Accurate with cash handling, receipting, and balancing takings

  • Adaptable, reliable, and able to handle a variety of tasks in busy environments

  • Candidates must be willing to complete a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and provide a current National Police Clearance.
