Denmark’s 2021 Youth Fest was held across two days last weekend with music, activities and fun for all.

On Friday night, the Denmark Civic Centre played host to a music fest for youth aged 12-18 years with the Unusual Suspects opening the festivities and DJ Dan keeping the crowd of about 60 young people dancing going until the doors closed.

Saturday saw the fun move to the Skate Park and ‘Tha House’ on day two of the Youth Fest with activities for all ages drawing a steady flow of families and youth along to the event.

The skateboard, scooter and BMX clinic presented by Freestyle Now was a hit with more than 30 attendees getting involved in the sessions.

Arcade games were very popular with kids (and adults) of all ages.

Other activities on the day included Born To Sparkle glitter tattoos and face sparkles and a circus workshop with slacklining, uni-cycling, juggling, plate spinning and hula hoops.

There were also information booths at the Youth Fest including the Denmark Local Drug Action Group where youths and their parents could obtain information on the reduction and prevention of alcohol and other drug related harm.

Albany Youth Support Association was also on hand to promote the Denmark Youth Outreach program which is an early intervention initiative that supports young people who may be in crisis or experiencing a difficult journey through adolescence.

The Denmark Youth Outreach program is a free service funded by the Shire of Denmark and available to all youths between the ages of 12-18 years old.

The Shire of Denmark would like to thank event sponsor Denmark Local Drug Action Group and all the contributors and participants of this year’s event.
