Exclusion Fence Funding for Denmark Airport

Shire of Denmark has been allocated funding to install exclusion fencing at Denmark Airport under the 2021-23 Regional Airports Development Scheme grant funding round.
The funding is welcome support for the Denmark Airport which has long had issues with kangaroos on the site which impact on day-to-day operations. The installation of an exclusion fence will ensure safer operations at Denmark Airport, necessary for private and commercial aviation in addition to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Royal Australian Air Force and water bomber planes which may need to use the facility in future.
The Shire of Denmark intends to work with local businesses and contractors to complete the work which is scheduled to begin next Financial Year.
Shire of Denmark Acting CEO David Schober said the funding is important for the Denmark community, not just those who regularly utilise the Denmark Airport facility.
“The Denmark Airport is an incredibly important facility for our community, particularly in the event of bushfire and medical emergencies,” Mr Schober said.
“It’s really important we do what we can to ensure operations can continue safely at the Denmark Airport and the new exclusion fence will play a big role in that endeavour.”
