Sixteen community groups were last week named as recipients of 2021 Shire of Denmark Community Grants after Council approved funding to a combined value of $25,000.

The annual Community Grants program is designed to provide financial assistance to local not-for-profit groups and organisations to help them deliver projects which will benefit the Denmark community.

Successful applicants this year included Country Women’s Association Denmark, Denmark Arts Council, Denmark Baroque, Denmark Bird Group, Denmark Bridge Club, Denmark CRC, Denmark Dragon Boat Club, Denmark Machinery Restoration Group, Denmark Mountain Bike Club, Denmark Surf Life Saving Club, Denmark Yacht Club, Great Southern Classic Car Show, Green Skills, Kwoorabup Community Markets Committee and Tingledale Tennis Club.

Applications were assessed by demonstrated need and alignment with both the Shire of Denmark Strategic Community Plan and Shire of Denmark Sustainability Strategy.

Shire of Denmark Chief Executive Officer David Schober said Council was pleased to once again be in a position to offer assistance to so many community groups which make projects happen in Denmark for the benefit of all.

“The Community Grants program enables us to offer assistance to a wide range of community groups,” Mr Schober said.

“On behalf of the entire organisation, I offer my congratulations to the successful applicants and look forward to seeing their projects come to life with this funding assistance.”
