About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Records Assistant to support the Shire’s records and archiving functions, working closely with the Records Officer as part of the Corporate Services team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, accurate work, has a strong eye for detail, and is confident using Microsoft Excel and records systems to manage and track information.
Key Responsibilities
- Archiving, boxing, storage and retrieval of physical records
- Data tracking and registers using Microsoft Excel
- Records classification, indexing and quality checking
- Digitisation and scanning of documents
- Ensuring accuracy, consistency and confidentiality of records
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have -
- Has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Has experience using Microsoft Excel for tracking, registers or reporting
- Demonstrates strong administrative and data accuracy skills
- Can follow procedures and meet deadlines
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and data integrity
- Communicates clearly and works well both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in records, archiving, local government or a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
Candidates must be willing to complete a pre‑employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and provide a current National Police Clearance.

Hours – Part – Time (Monday & Tuesday) 30.4 hours per fortnight Salary - $60,643 per annum Pro Rata
