Mitigation Works to Start Soon on Heritage Trail

Community members are advised of planned mitigation works along the Denmark Heritage Rail Trail from Crusoe Beach Road to the Denmark River.
Works are scheduled to commence at the eastern end of the designated area on Monday 8 February 2021 and are expected to take a month to complete.
The planned mitigation works will be divided into three stages, working from east to west, with access restricted to the trail in the areas affected by works. Community members will be able to access the portions of the trail which are not closed off while works are undertaken but there will be no through access. Signs will be in place to advise of restricted access.
Those wishing to traverse the Munda Biddi Trail which utilises the Heritage Rail Trail from Crusoe Beach to the Denmark River bridge will need to follow a detour to be advised by DBCA here: https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au
These mitigation works are required to ensure safe access for responding emergency services vehicles in the event of a bushfire, requiring vegetation management at ground and canopy level to be carried out in some areas.
