Denmark residents can cash in or bag a bargain when the Garage Sale Trail, a festival of pre-loved items, returns to the Shire of Denmark this spring.
This year’s event will occur nationally over two weekends - the 8th and 9th, and the 15th and 16th of November.
Since 2023, thousands of Denmark community members have taken part as sellers or buyers at hundreds of garage sales and stalls across our Shire, helping to divert quality, reusable items from landfill, making this event the perfect opportunity to turn your disused goods into cash and shop for epic finds at stalls in your neighbourhood.
Shire President Kingsley Gibson said the Garage Sale Trail is a fun and practical way to reduce waste and connect with neighbours.
“Events like this help build community, support the circular economy, and keep useful, functional household items out of landfill, and I guarantee you, there’s always something for everyone,” Cr Gibson said.
Free registrations are now open, and anyone interested in taking part can access how-to guides, helpful resources, and find useful information to make it easy for both sellers and buyers to get involved over the two weekends.
“In 2024, over 1,700 people participated, and this year, we hope to see even more community participation.”
The Garage Sale Trail supports the Shire of Denmark’s Council Plan: Our Future 2035, which aims for zero waste to landfill through recycling, and promotes community-led waste reduction.
