About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Officer (Rates) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about finance, data accuracy, and delivering excellent service to our community.

As a Finance Officer (Rates), you will assist with the accurate maintenance of the property and rating database, ensure the timely issuance and collection of rates notices, and provide high-quality customer service for property-related enquiries.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Will maintain and update the property and rating database in accordance with legislation and policies.
  • Will assist with the preparation and issue of rates notices, supplementary valuations and related correspondence.
  • Will provide professional support to ratepayers regarding enquiries, payment plans, and disputes.
  • Has experience in rates, revenue, or finance administration role (local government experience desirable).
  • Has sound understanding of rating legislation and practices (e.g., Local Government Act, Valuation of Land Act).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Hours:  Casual 2-3 days per week, as required.

Salary:  $63,736 per annum (FTE) plus up to 17% superannuation, and a 25% casual loading (pro rata for hours worked).
