Bush Fire Advisory Committee

The Bush Fire Advisory Committee has been established pursuant to Section 67 of the Bush Fires Act 1954.  The Committee consists of a Council Delegate, Chief and Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officers, Fire Weather Officer and Fire Control Officers from each local Brigade.

Local Emergency Management Committee

The Shire of Denmark has formed, as per the Emergency Management Act 2005,  a very active Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) with members  comprising of Councillors and staff from the Shire, Police Service, Department of Parks & Wildlife, Department of Child Protection and Family Services, Department of Health, Department of Fire & Emergency Services and local businesses together with volunteers from St John Ambulance, Marine Rescue Service, Fire and Rescue Service, SES, Denmark Surf Life Saving Club and Bush Fire Brigades all contributing to making our community safer.

Emergency Management Arrangements

The Shire of Denmark has a current set of Emergency Management Arrangements that were approved by the State Emergency Management Committee in June 2012. The aim of the Emergency Management Arrangements is to detail emergency management arrangements and ensure there is an understanding between agencies and stakeholders involved in managing or supporting emergencies within the Shire of Denmark.

  • Evacuation
  • Welfare
  • Testing & Review
  • Recovery
