Author, poet and environmentalist Anne Pettit will be running two free workshops at the Denmark Public Library on the 26th April, to share her knowledge and tips on sustainable living.
Anne comes from a science background and has been providing sustainability education in Perth and regional WA for many years. Her passion lies in rethinking waste, and making sustainable living easy and enjoyable.
In 2014 Anne received an emerging artist award for poetry, and she loves to share her skill with words and images to entertain and motivate.
In the first workshop “At home with green cleaning” Anne will share her knowledge and tips on ways to reduce waste, save money, and help protect the environment. Participants will make an eco-friendly cleaning product to take home.
In “Writing for nature – with a splash of colour” participants will express their connection to the environment through nature-based creative writing and art-making.
Manager Library Services Robyn Fairclough said Anne’s visit will “encourage and empower participants to reduce their impact on the natural world creatively and thoughtfully.”
The workshops are on Friday 26th April at the Denmark Public Library. “At home with green cleaning” runs from 10.30am to 12pm. “Writing for nature – with a splash of colour” runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling the Library on 9848 0306 or emailing library@denmark.wa.gov.au.
