Council met this week to agree on proposed rates for 2024/2025 to be advertised for public comment.
During the public comment period, open until 5pm, Wednesday 3 July 2024, community members are invited to submit public comments on a proposed rate rise which is 2% above annual CPI (3.4%)
The proposal equates to an average rate increase per ratepayer of $106, with the funds proposed for investing in the long-term viability of the community and its assets, including maintenance and upgrades to existing assets, as well as infrastructure renewal to prevent costly failures and disruptions.
Community feedback from the public comment period will inform the budget adoption and rate setting decisions in late July.
Public comments must be submitted in writing before 5pm, Wednesday 3 July 2024, either online via Your Denmark, via email on enquiries@denmark.wa.gov.au or via letter (hand-delivered to 953 South Coast Hwy or mailed to PO Box 183 Denmark).
The full rating proposal, along with frequently asked questions and the online public comment form are available online at www.yourdenmark.wa.gov.au/your-rates-2024-2025.
Hard copies of the rating proposal are available at the Shire Administration Building.
