In accordance with the Parry Inlet Sandbar Opening Protocol, the water level in the Parry Inlet has reached the optimal opening height (1.2m) and so the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation have authorised the Shire of Denmark to open the sandbar to alleviate flooding in the catchment.
Based on current weather conditions, the sandbar will be opened on Friday morning, 3rd July 2020, with the breaching timed with the ebbing tide at approximately 9:30am.
