Denmark residents who have writing a novel on their bucket list can come along to the Denmark Public Library every Friday in November for the Write-In series as part of National Novel Writing Month.

NaNoWriMo is a month-long creative writing challenge that takes place every November where participants from all over the world are challenged to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel.

The Write-Ins are sessions where people can get together, be inspired to write, or chat about their writing.

For anyone wanting to participate in NaNoWriMo or just wishing to write down the idea for a novel that’s been lurking, the Write-Ins are the perfect opportunity to get started.

Award winning author Dianne Wolfer will present a special Writers Workshop on Saturday 23rd November from 9.30-11.30 to assist participants with their projects.

Assistant Librarian Jemma Hipper hopes that some burgeoning authors will take this opportunity to jump-start their novel dream.

"Even the best writers confess that writing is challenging!  We hope that anyone who has ever desired to write will come along and join in the nanowrimo events and  connect to others, finding the motivation and support to develop their literary masterworks," she said.

The series will kick off with a light lunch on Friday 1st November.

For more information or to register interest in the Write-Ins contact the Denmark Public Library on 9848 0306.
