The Shire of Denmark welcomes Emma Holliday to the Ranger Service team this week, who stepped up from her administrative support role to join existing Rangers Charmaine Shelley and David Lonie in safeguarding the community.

Ms Holliday commenced at the Shire as administrative support for the Community Services team in October 2019 and has since completed her Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills training to obtain the legal knowledge and skills to perform the Ranger role.

Since COVID-19 restrictions began, Shire Rangers have continued to perform their services to the community including animal care and welfare, traffic management and fire risk management.

Rangers have been key in supporting Denmark Police and other agencies with community education and compliance surrounding restrictions put in place by WA Health due to the pandemic.

Ms Holliday says it was the variety and service to community that attracted her to the role.

“I enjoy the broad range of duties that are involved, and the challenge of balancing law enforcement to keep our community safe with ensuring people can enjoy our parks, reserves, beaches and playgrounds.”

Rangers are a key resource in keeping the Denmark community safe and the Shire hopes the community will join in welcoming Emma in her new role.
