Following the difficulties of 2020, the Shire of Denmark acknowledges Denmark ratepayers who paid their rates in full with unprecedented levels of timeliness in 2020.
The substantial uptake in paid-in-full rates was a great achievement by Shire residents who were rewarded with a rates prize incentive draw to a combined value of $3000 ‘Denmark Dollars’ distributed among seven randomly selected ratepayers in October.
It was the second year running for the incentive program, which was an initiative put forward by the Shire of Denmark Rates Officer in the spirit of giving back to ratepayers and supporting local business. Ratepayers were automatically eligible to win if they paid their rates in full by the first instalment due date.
The ‘Denmark Dollars’ prizes were vouchers to use at participating local stores and businesses which are also members of the Denmark Chamber of Commerce.
The first prize winner received $1000 ‘Denmark Dollars’, two second prize winners received $500 ‘Denmark Dollars’ each and there were four third prize winners who each received $250 ‘Denmark Dollars’.
The prize winners were congratulated by the Shire of Denmark Rates Officer who also thanked local businesses, Denmark Chamber of Commerce for promoting the incentive and the broader Denmark community for paying their rates early and in full despite the difficulties presented by the pandemic in 2020.
