Community Encouraged to Join Shire Working Groups

The Shire of Denmark is hoping to attract a diverse cross-section of the community to apply for two Working Groups which are currently on the look out for community representatives.

A total of nine vacancies are open between the Community Well-Being and Denmark Talks Working Groups which are looking for five and four community representatives respectively to join.

The Community Well-Being Working Group will be working on the development of a Public Health Plan for Denmark, while the Denmark Talks Working Group will be working on the development of the next Community Strategic Plan.

Both plans are key documents which look to the future direction of Shire operations which directly impact on the community, making community representation on the working groups key to their success.

The groups will create a flexible schedule suited to the busy lives of the people they hope to attract from all facets of the community.

Shire of Denmark Chief Executive Officer David Schober said this was a chance for community members to make a real and meaningful difference.

“This is a great opportunity for community members who want to get involved in the work the Shire does but who perhaps haven’t put their hands up before,” Mr Schober said.

“We want to encourage people of all ages, backgrounds, professions and experiences to apply to join these working groups which will be tasked with producing two key guiding documents for our Shire.”

“There are no pre-requisites or qualifications needed to join either of these working groups, just an interest in building the future of our community.”

Application forms can be downloaded or completed online at https://www.denmark.wa.gov.au/our-council/council-committees.aspx

Submissions are due by no later than 4pm Friday 22 October 2021.
