Book delivery service for Denmark’s most impacted residents

Denmark residents most impacted by the coronavirus can sign up for the Library’s new contactless book delivery service.

Over 70s, people isolating for medical reasons and people with disability are eligible for the service.

Customers with internet access can browse the library’s online catalogue to select their items, while customers without access can detail their preferences when registering for the service.

Pick up is via the Library by appointment or delivery if residing within a 15km radius of the town centre. Deliveries further out will be considered on a case by case basis.

Up to ten items can be selected in one loan, with a loan period of six weeks.

Strict hygiene protocols will be in place during all stages of the process, from book selection by staff to delivery/collection and return.

This includes returned items being quarantined for nine days before being placed back on shelves.

Manger Library Services Robyn Fairclough said she was pleased to be able to offer the service to residents who are most susceptible to, and impacted most by the virus.

“Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all library users and staff.  The new service and completely contactless loan procedure allows us to provide access to library resources to those most in need,” she said.

Interested community members can call the Library on 9848 0306, or email library@denmark.wa.gov.au  to register. Library members not eligible for the service can access free online resources including audio and e-books here.
