A Bird Sanctuary will be explored further after the Shire of Denmark recently sought community feedback regarding dog exercise areas in a bid to review the Dog Areas Policy.
Through this process, the Shire received submissions in support of a Bird Sanctuary in the Prawn Rock Channel area additional to the detailed Sanctuary proposal previously submitted which emphasised the importance of protecting migratory and resident birds.
Details of the proposal will be presented on the Shires ‘Your Denmark’ webpage to enable community members to find more information about the proposal. The aim is to encourage the community to ask any questions they may have.
The Shire has not made any decisions on amending dog exercise areas. Further consultation around the Bird Sanctuary proposal needs to be considered before making any alterations to existing areas.
