Application to Run a Business on Council Land

It is hereby notified for public information that the Shire has received an application for a Permit to Run a Business on Council Land described hereunder: 

The proposal is to be considered in accordance with the Shire of Denmark Activities on Thoroughfares and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2001.

In summary, the Permit application seeks approval to conduct a four (4) month trial of a Weekly Monday Night Market accommodating up to 25 private stallholders. Produce offered for sale will include a variety of local products, produce and crafts, and Local Wine Producers with appropriate liquor licensing.  An entertainment component may include food and beverage vendors/vans and live entertainment.

Details of the proposal are available for viewing at the Shire Offices, 953 South Coast Highway, Denmark, during business hours (9am – 4pm weekdays) or can be downloaded by clicking here. 

Comments on the proposal should be lodged with Planning Services, in writing (email is acceptable) on or before close of business on Thursday 31 December 2020.  Please note that any comments received may be referred to the applicant to provide them with an opportunity to address the issues raised in the first instance (NB: names and contact details are removed at this point in time).  Should the proposal be referred to Council for determination, all comments will be made publicly available at that time, which may include submitter details. 

This proposal is available for inspection in order to provide an opportunity for public comment as part of the Shire’s assessment process of the proposal.
