Last week, local year nine student Laura Webster was announced as the recipient of the annual Shire of Denmark Agriculture Scholarship at the WA College of Agriculture Denmark’s graduation ceremony.
Laura, who will be attending the college as a year 10 student in 2022, was presented with the $1500 scholarship by Shire of Denmark Chief Executive Officer David Schober who was acting on behalf of Council.
Mr Schober said the very best wishes of Council accompanied the scholarship which will assist Laura with her tuition fees at the College next year.
Council selected Laura’s application as the successful candidate behind closed doors at the October Ordinary Council Meeting.
“Laura stood out from the rest, her passion for agriculture was evident in her application,” Mr Schober said.
“On behalf of Council and the whole team at the Shire of Denmark, I wish Laura all the best with her schooling experience at the WA College of Agriculture, Denmark, and beyond.”
