Draft Shire of Denmark Sport & Recreation Plan (Closed)

The Draft Shire of Denmark Sport and Recreation Plan is now out for public comment.  The study was completed by ABV Leisure Consultants and was received by Council at its July 17 2018 Meeting.

The aim of this study was to provide a long-term plan for the sustainable development and use of the sport, recreation and leisure facilities and services in the Shire of Denmark to maximise opportunities for active and passive recreation for the whole community.

The study includes a review of the current situation, analysis of potential future demand, extensive consultation with the community and key stakeholders, review of current trends and the development of medium to long term concept plans for the McLean Park Recreation Precinct for the next 10-15 years.

The Plan will guide Council to understand the community’s recreation needs, to better manage sport and recreation provision, assist future sport and recreation decision making and map a justified implementation plan with indicative staged costings.

If your Club, business or individual participation is looking at developing facilities in the Sport and Recreation field it is highly recommended you consider reading this document and providing any feedback your Club or Association can offer Council.

Feedback, comments or suggestions may be posted to the Shire of Denmark, PO Box 183, Denmark WA 6333 marked “Sport and Recreation Masterplan” or emailed to enquiries@denmark.wa.gov.au.
