Like most country emergency services, the Shire of Denmark Bush Fire Brigades rely on volunteers to dedicate their time to protect their community from bush fires.

The Shire has 14 Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades with 23 firefighting appliances.

Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Assisted Control Burns

As property owners are responsible for any fires lit on their property and the potential expenses should a fire escape their control, it is possible for the Shire of Denmark Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades to assist you, at a fee for service, conduct a control burn at your property to reduce fuel levels. This will enable experienced firefighters to plan and undertake the control burn in a safe manner whilst utilising modern fire fighting equipment.
