East River Road (Eastern End) Alignment
Council endorsed the road alignment for the Eastern Precinct, which comprises the area from Denmark - Mt Barker Road to McIntosh Road and includes the proposed industrial area, at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 18 October 2016.
Work has recently commenced on the Denmark East Development Precinct Project (Eastern Precinct), with the Shire of Denmark utilising budgeted Roads to Recovery funding to complete approximately 1.5km of the 3.7km required road length to the industrial area, this financial year.
Works include the upgrade of the road to RAV standard, with this currently taking place on East River Road, within approved clearing permit areas, from Denmark-Mt Barker Road to Sheoak Drive.
During this time ‘through traffic’ will cease on this section of road, and access will be via the eastern section of East River Road via McIntosh Rd.
‘Road Closed’ signs will be displayed during this time and, when possible, arrangements will be made to open the road on weekends.
The Shire of Denmark is working hard to minimise all disruptions and asks users to show caution when driving on gravel roads and observe all advisory signs.
The Shire of Denmark thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during this time.
