Emergency Management
The Shire of Denmark has a very active Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) with Councillors and staff from the Shire, staff from the Police Service, Dept of Environment and Conservation, Department of Communities, Department of Health, FESA and local businesses together with volunteers from St John Ambulance, Red Cross, Fire and Rescue Service, SES and Bush Fire Brigades all contributing to making our community safer.
What Does the LEMC Do?
The LEMC meets quarterly to discuss how emergency services and support organisations in the Shire can prevent some emergencies from occurring, best prepare in the event of an emergency and how the community can recover and return to ‘business as usual’ after such an event.
The LEMC is in the process of reviewing the following documents;
- Local Emergency Management Arrangements
- Local Emergency Management Arrangements Review Flowchart
- Last Exercise to Evaluate the Emergency Arrangements
- DRAFT Emergency Evacuation Plan
- WA State Bushfire Emergency Plan (Westplan-Bushfire)
Copies of these documents can also be inspected at the Shire Office during business hours.
